On 17 th February 2023 many of our members entered the Echuca Show Horticultural section. With displays of ferns, flowers, succulents,vegetables, herbs, roses & foliage plants entered for scrutineering by judge Margaret Orso. We also made a display table of 5 items we can do in our garden or floral art & crafts. Some MEMBERS stayed and helped the very small committee to set up the dining pavilion which housed horticulture, photography, cakes, crafts etc. It was a shame that not many entries were received for some of the sections, but hopefully next November when the Show is on AGAIN AT ITS NORMAL SLOT IT WILL BE MORE POPULAR!! Our group won the BEST GROUP EXHIBIT. Member Lesley Serong won OVERALL CHAMPION for her entry Begonia. Many 1st, 2nd & 3rd Prizes were issued. A delicious morning tea was provided for the helpers and judges of the different sections on the Friday. MEMBERS can start to think about an entry into the SHOW it was very enlighteniing the way the judging goes, we need to read the entry RULES very carefully , as a few of us were caught out !! Anyway a great experience for all.
