MEMBER JAN’S GARDEN ON WEDNESDAY 23RD OCT 2024
JAN VERY KINDLY INVITED OUR MEMBERS TO VIEW HER MAGNIFICENT LARGE PROPERTY. We entered via the SECRET GARDEN to the left met by stepping logs down a slight slope amongst the shrubs and ferns and shadehouse with many FOXGLOVES along the way. Our entrance was announced by Jan & Barrys very vocal MACAWS and PARROTS a very efficient doorbell. A magnificent vista draws the eye to the dam with the ducks and old rusty car and tractor decorating the edge. Around the pathway we went to see foxgloves galore all self seeded and so pretty. A border of white roses along the pathway, with succulents on their own stand, and many gum trees in the natural setting. Around past the firepit where you can picture yourself sitting there with a glass of wine and cheese platter or bbq. Look over to the impressive WISTARIA WALK ARCHWAY filled with Japenese and chinese wistaria which were only just starting to flower. Walk on through to the back to roses planted next to the Chook yard who were happily pecking away in the paddock. Another pathway through to admire the acacias, geraniums, calistamens, poppies, iris, more foxgloves, hippyastrums, and aloe flowers. A credit to Jan and Barrys hard work after nearly everything was floated away or died in the devastating floods. We then enjoyed morning tea and cake and chatted about gardening of course!! THANKS FOR SHARING.
