We were pleased to have Craig from the Echuca Moama Plant Nursery for our speaker in July. Craig and Kate started out as Garden Planners designing Landscaping and Plant placement in a small shop in Heygarth St Echuca. Plants they chose weren’t readily available locally, so they sourced plants for their projects, SO the nursery grew from that, pretty soon they ran out of room and the current site on the Northern Highway was born. To keep the nusery open they need 111 people each day to survive!!! They have now diversified to ONLINE business to deliver to other towns all over Victoria and some in NSW and ACT. THEY ADVOCATE TO BE THE CHEAPEST, HEALTHIEST PLANTS WITH DEALS FOR DELIVERY REGARDING FUEL. The nursery business sky rocketed over COVID as more people staying home got out onto their gardens. Craig said during the 2022;2023 floods they lost $1/2 million of trees on their plant farm. They have now moved the trees closer to the main Rd out the Village to hopefully be safer.
